I tried several invalid usernames at a valid domain name (my office), and the class returned that the accounts were valid. I know they were complete spoofs. Is there an error in the validation class, or is the server responding incorrectly?

That means that the server would accept messages to those addresses, even though it is very likely that it either drop the messages in fallback mailbox or bounce the messages to the original sender.
