PDO (PHP Data Objects) will be a LARGE part of PHP db interactions, and a LOT of Legacy is going to have to be scramble-dashed in order to make them functional. A MySQL => PDO equivalency would be AMAZING, and quite a few people could stand to benefit from this equivalency. I have NEVER seen this done, except, maybe, for a short lesson on SO. But nowhere near what there needs to be to steer n00b devs off of MySQL. Just my two cents...

A package using PDO was developed by a different author which can be found here...

I have not used it myself, however the current reviews are positive, so I did not reinvent the wheel.
